The Fast-track Phonics videos are designed to consolidate the content of lessons for the individual sounds. Learners are expected to participate: to say, blend and segment the sounds, and to do the associated actions as the video plays along. In Part 2, different spellings for the same sound still have the same action. Actions can be performed sitting at a desk or standing.

The videos do not have a soundtrack. The teacher should read the instructions (contained in the slides) out loud and then do a voiceover as a guide for pronunciation of sounds and words.

The Part 2 videos for young learners contain copies of the basic picture, word and sound flashcards for vowel digraphs as in Part 1B, but with the addition of alternative spellings for these same sounds. These follow the sequence outlined in the respective teacher guides and replicated in the activity workbooks for Part 2 young learners (Set 10-13). There are ‘sounds reviews’ at the introduction of each new group of alternative spellings, ,and Set reviews at the end of each set of 5 sounds.
